Why Paquiao will be the first man to KO Clottey...

Ok, besides videogames, another one of my passions is sports. And one of them is boxing. Because next Saturday there will a big, quite anticipated boxing fight, I though I'd say something about it. So here goes, I'm going to tell you why I think Manny Pacquiao will be the first man to KO Joshua Clottey.

It's true Clottey has never been knocked-out, and everyone must admit he does have a great chin. But has he ever faced someone with such great speed and power combined as Pacquiao? Looking at his record, we can see he fought great names like Margarito, Judah (not-so-great name, but I think it counts...) and Cotto. While he was never knocked out, the truth is he lost to an inconsistent Margarito (with plaster or not...) and a mentally weak Cotto after his first loss. The same Cotto that went on to be "easily" knocked out by Pacquiao after dragging himself around the ring for the second half of the fight, until the ref finally decided to put a stop to the massacre.

Now, it's true many people think Clottey had a very close fight against Cotto, and maybe he should have won, but there are two things we should notice. Firstly, the Cotto of that fight was not the undefeated Cotto he used to be, the Cotto that defeated Mosley, Judah or an undefeated Paulie Malignaggi. And he still won. Secondly, what does Clottey have that Cotto doesn't? Maybe chin, but can it really make a difference if this fight goes the same way as Pacquiao's previous fight? I don't think so...

My prediction is that this fight will be an exact replay of the Pacquiao VS Cotto fight. The early rounds might be balanced, and Clottey may even win one or two rounds, but as time goes on, Pacquiao's speed and, specially, his tremendous, huge, workrate, will make a difference. That will cause Clottey to start taking some big punches from the 3rd or 4th round on and never recover. Clottey will then probably adopt a defensive posture, diminishing his workrate even further, which will cause him to lose rounds. Eventually, probably near the very end of the fight, the referee will have to stop the fight.

There is absolutely no way Clottey can defeat Pacman, he simpy hasn't got the capacity to get through that speed, power and workrate, unless he manages to connect a lucky power punch and KO Pacquiao out cold, but I find that to be very unlikely.

And well, that's my opinion and my prediction for the fight. You're free to disagree if you want to! I just want comments and more comments! Actually I had a few replies to the previous post, and some of them were interesting, but they're not here on the blog because they were posted by users of a forum where I suggested people to read my article about Final Fantasy... Anyway, I'm thankful for the feedback and I want to keep writing good stuff so this legendary blog becomes more and more popular!

So, what are your thoughts about the upcoming fight of Manny Pacquiao VS Joshua Clottey? Who do you think will win, how, and why? Speak your mind, people, I wanna know your opinions!

And that's all for today, I hope you bookmark my blog and visit it often because I want to make this a great website but I can't do it without your help. Thanks and see you another day!

i respect the opinion u gave but its time for me to point out the many holes in it

starting off with the loss to margarito...this is true but if u watched that fight u will see clottey win the early rounds until he broke his hand in the 4th and u saw his noticeable decline after that round..2nd off margarito is a fighter pacquiao never fought and is much taller than pacquiao so the loss to margacheato is irrelevant in my opinion...the cotto fight speaks for itself...cotto got outboxed by clottey for most of the fight but was still awarded the decision at a madison square garden full of puerto rican fans a day before the puerto rican day parade...no suprise there...i will tell u what clottey has that cotto doesnt and its more than a chin...clottey is more technically skilled than cotto...he has quicker hands...and a much tighter solid defense...if u have watched clottey fights u know what i mean but even if not i think its evident enough in the cotto-clottey fight

i really dont know what fight u were watching to say cotto was "easily" knocked out...not only did he make it to the last rd but he could have made it to the very end had the ref not stopped the fight...now dont get me wrong it was a massacre but it was a poor call on the refs part to stop the fight in the very last rd when cotto was still moving and very active...it would have made more since to stop it in the 10th if he felt cotto was taking too much punishment

you say its "absolutely no way" clottey can beat pacman but i will tell u ahead of time to not be suprised if pacman get the beating of his career...now im not saying clottey will win BUT he most definitely have a chance and anybody who think differently really need to catch up on homework...clottey is no slouch...i can see pacquiao speed putting him at a advantage to win a unanimous and i can also see clottey punishing pacman into defeat but the 1 thing that WONT happen is pacquio knocking out clottey...im telling u ahead of time...dont get those hopes up

Yeah, you do have some valid points there, but I must point out even though I said knock-out I included the eventuality of a TKO in that definition, so maybe I should have been more specific and just written "stoppage" intead of "KO".
About Pacquiao "easily" winning that's exactly why I used the "", because I really didn't mean it was easy, I meant it was a one-sided fight and Cotto practically didn't exist in the second half of the fight.
Anyway, thanks a lot for your opinion, it was the first comment in this blog and that makes me very proud!

I agree with your analysis; at the end of the day, Manny wins by UD or TKO; this is not to say that Joshua Clottey is not a good boxer, because he is, but he is NOT an Andre Berto or a Tim Bradley or a young Shane Mosley.

whatever reason thereis, cotto was better than clottey on their fight, be it the WORLD PUERTORICAN-MUST-WIN day, or the eve of PUERTORICAN-DOMINATION-OF-EARTH-WILL-HAPPEN-IF-COTTO-DOESNT-WIN day..

CLOTTEY was defeated by COTTO wether it be a minute indistinct margin, he still lost.. what i am trying to point out is MP schooled Cotto, to the point that Cotto just ran around and wished he had a different career..

the fact that he did something very punishing to a better fighter, what makes you think Clottey is not going to be KTFO?

to alamat...its the sport of boxing...its never as black and white as who beat who...ali lost to frazier...frazier got punished by foreman and foreman later lost to ali...the sport of boxing is never that predictable...styles make fights...cotto being a better fighter than clottey is nothing more than an opinion u gained as the result of a split decision

to tyson legend my mistake..i did notice the quotation around easily i just didnt know how u meant it and i agree cotto didnt exist in the 2nd half of the fight

Good day! I know this is kinda off topic but I was wondering which blog platform are you using for this
site? I'm getting sick and tired of Wordpress because I've had issues with hackers and
I'm looking at alternatives for another platform. I would be great if you could point me in the direction of a good platform.
